Who is the Fish Scheme for?

Every once and a while we like to take a break from exploring the wonders of water to remind our fantastic hydration network exactly what it is we do. So if your school or youth group has signed up to Fish, or if you’re looking for ways to boost hydration in your organisation, here’s a rundown of what we’re trying to achieve and who the Fish scheme is for.

What is the Fish Scheme?

The Fish Campaign for Motivational Hydration was created to help promote hydration in schools and ensure thirsty young minds have access to all the H2O they need. By promoting friendly rivalry between pupils and providing educational materials for teachers and parents, we hope to encourage all children to stay hydrated throughout the day.

If children don’t get enough water when they’re at school, they can quickly begin to feel the effects of dehydration. A lack of H2O can lead to pupils becoming tired, losing their concentration and suffering headaches – none of which are very conducive to learning. Ensuring that they drink enough water during the day can help children to stay focused in the classroom and feel more awake throughout the school day.

Who is Fish for?

The Fish scheme has been designed to help both teachers and pupils. Our specially designed products will make it a lot easier for young people to remember to drink water when they’re at school while our support materials give teachers lots of great ideas for how they can teach kids about the importance of hydration.

In order to achieve these goals, we work with schools across the country to boost levels of hydration among their pupils. Most of the schools we work with are for primary aged pupils, something that allows us to build healthy hydration habits in children as early as possible.

How it works

Schools that sign up for the Fish scheme can have specially designed ‘hydration stations’ installed in corridors and in other well-used areas. These provide fresh, clean drinking water for everyone who uses the school, ensuring there’s always some tasty H2O on tap whenever it’s needed.

As well as hydration stations, we provide pupils with specially designed reusable water bottles. These 500ml bottles can be filled from the hydration stations around the school, making it easy for kids to stay topped up with water. If pupils drink one full bottle in the morning and one in the afternoon, they’ll reach their hydration target and possibly be rewarded by their school’s in-house hydration competition.

If you think the pupils in your school could do with an injection of H2O, or if you just want to find out more about the scheme, explore our site or contact a member of our team today.
